Exciting opportunity to join Scottish Cycling ahead of Tour de France

We’re looking for two hard-working individuals to join our Tour de France Grand Départ Social Impact team, as we look to drive development and delivery of a transformative social impact strategy that leverages cycling to improve lives across Scotland.

The Grand Départ of the Tour de France will take place in Edinburgh in July 2027, the first time the race has ever set foot on Scottish shores, and Scottish Cycling is looking for two individuals to join our social impact team and ensure the event leaves a long-lasting benefit for Edinburgh and Scotland.

A Social Impact Project Officer and a Communications Coordinator will join our current staff team on full time fixed term roles until 31st January 2028. Closing Date is midnight on 8th February, with interviews commencing from the week of 16th February.

Tour de France Grand Départ Social Impact

Communications Coordinator  

We are seeking a dynamic, talented, and passionate Communications Coordinator to support the digital communications and storytelling that bring the Tour de France Grand Départ social impact strategy to life; inspiring participation, supporting programme delivery, strengthening partnerships, and evidencing impact before, during and after the 2027 Grand Départ. 

The post holder will lead on the day-to-day management of all communications activity linked to the Tour de France social impact programme, working closely with the rest of the Scottish Cycling Marketing & Communications team, and the wider social impact team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a globally recognised event, raising the profile of cycle sport in Scotland, and deliver lasting change to improve lives across Scotland.

Social Impact Officer

We are seeking a talented, experienced, and passionate Social Impact Project Officer to support the development and delivery of a transformative social impact strategy that leverages cycling to improve lives across Scotland. This role will work closely with internal teams and key event partners to maximise a coordinated and impactful approach. 

There are three overarching social impact outcomes that all UK wide event partners are collectively looking to contribute to before, during and after the Grand Départ. These are health improvement, economic growth and thriving communities. This post will work with both Scottish Cycling and British Cycling’s social impact teams to help deliver six UK-wide programmes, alongside a programme of social impact projects in Scotland. Some potential examples of these projects are a girls’ cycling participation programme, school engagement, employability, and arts & cultural initiatives.
