Olympics
Jack Carlin started his Olympic campaign on Monday with the Men’s Team Sprint.
After a sluggish start in the Team Sprint, Carlin, the third man in team, produced a barn-storming final lap to deliver the Great Britain squad to the top of the timing sheet in qualifying. Their time of 41.862 would only be usurped by a top Dutch outfit.
The Scot, alongside Hamish Turnbull and Ed Lowe, will race again in the First Round and hopefully medal finals tomorrow.
Scottish RR Champs
It was an excellent day of racing from Newton Stewart as three National Champions were decided at the Scottish National Road Race Championships.
Logan Maclean (Spirit TBW Stuart Hall Cycling) claimed an excellent solo victory in the Open race, while Arabella Blackburn (Shibden Apex RT) and Beth Morrow (Alba Development RT) won out in the Junior and Senior Female Championships.
