Scottish Downhill Championships
All eyes are on the Glencoe Black trail for the Scottish National MTB Downhill Championships across the weekend. Twelve Scottish titles will be decided on the track that hosted the Championships back in 2025.
Saturday sees the practice runs, with the race runs on Sunday. The opening run will be held between 11:30 and 1:30pm, with the second run starting at 2pm.

Scottish Road Race Championships.
South Lanarkshire is the venue for the 2026 Scottish National Road Race Championships, with Senior Open and Female, as well as the Junior Female titles set to be contested.

British Gravel Championships
Ae Forest plays host to the first officially-sanctioned British Gravel Championships.
Saturday sees the Youth and Masters 50+ Open races take place, with course practice also throughout the day, while Sunday sees the Juniors, Elite, as well as 19-34 up to 45-49 Open riders and all Female categories chase the British titles to round off the weekend of racing.
Two laps of the 43km route through the Galloway Forest, sees the majority of riders taking on an 86km race, with over 810m of elevation per lap. Scottish MTB Champion Grace Inglis (Team HUP) and reigning Scottish Gravel and British Cyclocross Champion Cameron Mason (Seven Racing) will be among the Scots chasing success on Sunday.
La Vuelta and Lloyds Tour of Britain
The third and final men’s Grand Tour of the season gets underway in Monaco on Saturday. La Vuelta á Espana will see Callum Thornley make his Grand Tour debut with Red Bull-BORA hansgrohe while Oscar Onley will be carrying Netcompany-Ineos’ general classification hopes and will aim to be Scotland’s first Grand Tour podium in forty years.
Closer to home the Lloyds Tour of Britain Women will wrap up over the weekend, FDJ United-Suez’ Lauren Dickson is well and truly in contention. The Scottish sensation was at the forefront of racing on the opening two stages and is aiming for her first professional victory as the race heads in to Wales.
Handsling-Alba animated Stage 1 through Arabella Blackburn’s attacking endeavours, but Beth Morrow and Anna Flynn will also be looking to take the fight to the WorldTour teams, as well Morven Yeoman (DAS-Hutchinson) who impressed with a strong ride on Stage 2.
