Coaching

A coach is someone who is trained and qualified to teach cycling skills, improve performance, and support riders’ development. Coaches may operate across different disciplines and ability levels depending on their qualifications and remits.

Becoming A Coach

If you would like to be part of our growing community of qualified coaches, then the best place to start is with a British Cycling coach education course. The entry point into coaching is through the Introduction to Coaching qualification which allows you to start learning in the chosen discipline and environment straight away.

This is the first step into the Coach Award, and once you’ve completed the course you’ll be able to deliver activity in your discipline, with the remit of an Activity Coach. These are 6-week programmes combining e-learning, virtual seminars, and a practical development day. Completion of the course will qualify you to deliver basic coaching activities independently in your chosen cycling discipline
