Gie it a go!

So, you like riding your bike? But what’s next?

There are so many different reasons young people enjoying riding – it might be the sense of freedom it gives, it might be hanging out with your mates, or it might be for the adrenaline rush you get when you’re going fast or have cleared that new jump for the first time!

Here at Scottish Cycling we want to help you take your riding to the next level, and that is through ‘Gie it a go Racing’.

Gie what a go?

Simply put, it’s your first taste of a cycling event, where the focus is on having fun and meeting new people, as opposed to going super-fast or getting a particular result.

Currently we run Gie it a go Racing in three different formats:

Dirt Crits – if you like riding off road on trails, getting a bit dirty, and maybe going downhill fast or doing jumps, this is for you

Pump Track – do you and your mates ride at your local pump track or skate park? Well this is the one for you!

Road Crits – like the thrill of speed? Get a buzz from racing against your friends? Road crits are the place for you

What do you need?

This is racing in its simplest form – all you need is a bike. No fancy kit, no special equipment, just show up at one of our events with your bike, and a smile, and away you go!

So what are you waiting for – it’s your turn to gie it a go!
