Scotia Series
Lulu Bartlett (Team Boompods) made it two wins from two in the Scotia Series after she rode away from the field in the biblical rain in South Lanarkshire on Saturday morning.
The Scottish Road Race Champion attacked with 50km to go alongside Rebecca Saunderson (Studio Velo) as the rain tore down at the Torvelo Women’s RR. Bartlett, would then find another gear to distance Saunderson on the climb before time trialling her way through the final 35km lap to take the victory. Saunderson came home in second place, with an excellent ride from Isla Easto (Solas Cycling) in third place.
She Pedals Scotland
Saturday and Sunday were the big days for She Pedals Scotland – when we were encouraging as many women across the country to get out on their bikes and get pedalling.
From Elgin to Eyemouth and Ayr to Aberdeen, we know hundred of women across Scotland got on their bikes.
If you went out riding, racing or just riding down to the café across the weekend, let us know how it went by clicking here.
If you missed a ride on Saturday due to the rain – and went out on Sunday, we still want to hear from you!

Mennock Pass Stage Race
The weekend also saw the inaugural Mennock Pass Stage Race organised by Torvelo Racing; with Matti Dobbins (MyPad Racing) victorious in South Lanarkshire.
Dobbins bridged across with a group of chasers to sole leader Elliot Colyer (TAAP Kalas) on the penultimate of five ascents of the brutal Mennock Pass, on Sunday’s final 136km stage of the two-day stage race. Colyer, Dobbins and Elliot Bain (Team PB Performance) would break clear on the lower slopes of the pass – and extending their advantage over race leader Charlie Genner in the main bunch over a minute back.
Scottish-born Irishman Dobbins forced his way clear in the final few metres to take the stage win – and with the 10 second bonus on the line – which was enough to take the general classification by eight seconds from TAAP-Kalas rider. Genner would be unable to defend his race lead – coming home in 13th place – 1’49” behind Dobbins – and would drop to fourth in the general classification. Saturday’s Stage 1 winner Henry Hunter (Kendal CC) would round out the podium in third place.
Hunter won the 77km stage around Abington after a three-man move with Charlie Genner and Ross Fawcett (Stolen Goat RT) gained a minute and a half on the bunch with Genner deposing prologue winner Logan Maclean in the race’s Blue Leaders’ Jersey.
A massive well done to the team at Torvelo for organising an excellent weekend of racing, which we’ll sure will be the first of many.
