Connect: Our New Women and Girls Programme

Scottish Cycling is excited to launch our Women and Girls Connect Programme!

We are excited to launch Connect – our new Women and Girls programme – which is all about boosting gender equality and creating more opportunities for women and girls in cycling by making connections between women who are involved in our club network.

Following the recent consultation on the Scottish Cycling Women and Girls Strategy, clear targets have been set to encourage greater participation and involvement of women and girls in cycling. Women already engaged in cycling have valuable insights and experiences that can help meet those goals.

Why Join the Women and Girls Connect Programme?

Here’s how involvement in the programme can make a difference:

  • Share Expertise: Whether it’s skills in coaching, event organisation, or club management, sharing knowledge can inspire and empower more women and girls to get involved and thrive in cycling.
  • Grow and Learn: For those looking to develop skills further and learn how to better support women and girls in cycling, this programme provides a collaborative platform to exchange ideas and strategies.

Ruth Wright, Club Development Manager said:

“We have already seen some great examples of where women have come together from different clubs to share thoughts and ideas of how to increase women and girls’ participation.  It will be great to add to this by enabling more connections between clubs and providing a platform for thoughts to be shared through the Connect Programme”

How to Get Involved

We’re also hosting a series of ‘Bridging the Gap’ webinars to hear directly from clubs about their experiences with increasing female participation.
