Refreshed Funding model for Coach Education

Over 100 learners have received support from the sportscotland coach education subsidy, but as we head into the final months of the financial year, we have to make some changes to the support future learners can access.

The sportscotland coaching subsidy funds that were allocated to Scottish Cycling for the 2025/2026 financial year have now been fully exhausted.

Whilst this is fantastic news for the over 100 cycling coaches who have received subsidy towards courses this year we are aware that it leaves a gap for those who would meet subsidy demographics and are looking to undertake a coach education course in the period from 1st January – 31st March 2026.

Scottish Cycling will attempt to continue to provide subsidies for those meeting the demographics outlined in our original documentation. As this funding will need to be allocated from other sources we are unable to guarantee subsidy amounts.

We are asking those who feel they meet a subsidy demographic to complete the form found in the guidance document below

On receipt of the form Scottish Cycling will decide on allocation of any subsidy based on available funds and make all efforts to inform the applicant of the outcome within 7 days. The process for paying out any subsidy awarded will continue to be that funds are released upon confirmation from British Cycling that the learner has completed the course and attended the final development day.
