The Youth Opportunities Fund will support Scottish Cycling-affiliated clubs to deliver structured, coach or leader led cycling activity for young people aged 3–26 within their local communities.
Activity will focus on fun, inclusive delivery while introducing young people to more structured participation and grassroots competition.
Whilst this is not a definitive list, below are some examples of what clubs could potentially apply to the fund for:
- Free or subsidised rate holiday time sessions
- School sessions leading to club opportunities
- Training & development of potential young coaches
- Purchase of equipment or facility hire
- Payment of coaches/volunteer expenses for session delivery
- Linking with a local College or University to grow membership or develop coaches
- Supporting the delivery of grassroots events
Activities delivered should be free or low cost, and should be accessible to all young people. Activity ideally should begin within the Summer and spend must be complete by the end of March 2027.
We are going to be assessing applications on a rolling basis, so as soon as funds have been allocated, the fund will close. So please don’t hesitate to apply if you have a project in mind.
Should you wish to discuss any element of your application, please get in touch with your Club Development team point of contact.
