Scottish Cycling looking to appoint two Board Directors

Scottish Cycling is looking to increase both the experience and diversity of its Board of Directors by appointing two further members this spring.

Whilst we have a good mix of skills and experience, we would like to further strengthen our board over the coming months, with two female directors having completed their terms in November.

Scottish Cycling is the governing body for cycle sport in Scotland, its remit ranging from the playground to the podium and everything in between. Guided by its organisational strategy, Developing a Nation of Cyclists 2.0, the organisation looks to grow the number of people riding bikes, taking part in events and achieving success on the world stage.

Scottish Cycling is also looking to extend the breadth of its impact, its Rock Up & Ride programme ensuring disadvantaged communities get the chance to take part in cycling, whilst in 2024 the organisation launched its first Women & Girls Strategy, which aims to shift the dial on female participation. Experience and knowledge in this space would be welcomed.

Whilst a passion for cycling is preferred, our primary focus is ensuring our Board of Directors has the correct mix of skills and life experiences to ensure Scottish Cycling continues to go from strength to strength. Given the make-up of our Directors, we are particularly keen to hear from people from the legal or public/charitable sectors, and individuals with strong Business Development experience.

Our staff team continue to do a fantastic job of serving our membership and community, recognised as we picked up the Governing Body of the Year in 2023 at the Scottish Sports Awards, but our Board of Directors plays a key role in ensuring we are pedalling in the right direction.
