Yeoman makes it a Scottish hat-trick in Lincoln

Morven Yeoman (DAS-Hutchinson) claimed a fantastic victory on the Michaelgate cobbles to win the Rapha Lincoln GP and take the biggest win of her career.

Lincoln GP

Following on from Scottish successes in 2024 through Kate Richardson and Lauren Dickson last year, Morven Yeoman (DAS-Hutchinson) took the win on the day, in what was a dominant performance by the DAS-Hutchinson team.

A race-defining break on the third ascent of Michaelgate saw Yeoman, Noemie Thomson (DAS-Hutchinson) and Ruby Oakes (FTP-Fulfil The Potential-Racing) break away from what had been a steady peloton.

The breakaway formed an impressive gap which just kept widening, until an attack from Yeoman on the penultimate lap sent her away. Thomson then soon dropped Oakes to create a DAS-Hutchinson 1-2. As the peloton reformed, Thomson and Yeoman only pushed on, with Yeoman taking first and Thomson second.

Yeoman’s win takes her to the top of the series standings after round three, with Katie Scott (DAS-Hutchinson) in second and Thomson in third, though with points tight at the top, there’s still everything to play for.

British Cross Country Mountain Bike Series

Tong played host to the third round of the British Cross Country Series.

In the Elite Open, Corran Carrick-Anderson (Peebles CC) claimed top spot in style to secure his first win of the series. Leading throughout, a huge effort in the last lap took the win beyond doubt. Innes McDonald (Scotia Off-Road RT) finished in third place, after claiming the Short Track win on Saturday.

Grace Inglis (Team HUP) secured the win in the Elite Female, leading from the off and going from strength to strength as the race went on. Zoe Blyth (Scotia Offroad RT) claimed the win as top junior, while there was another youth podium with Eilidh Coutts (Edinburgh RC) claiming second place. Zach Buchan (Pentland Racers) would raise his arms aloft with a fantastic victory by nearly a minute over the rest of the field in Yorkshire in the Youth open.

Downhill

Across the border in Wales, Antur Stiniog hosted the second round of the British downhill series.

Emily Carrick-Anderson (Wheelbase Cabtech Castelli) came out on top in commanding style, dominating the field to cross the line with a time of 2:41.926 to win her first elite female downhill race. Megan Horne was the closest rider to the Peebles’ native and won the junior event.

Para World Cup

A challenging day on Sunday in Abruzzo with tough conditions in the road races in Italy at the latest round of the UCI Para-Road World Cup.

That didn’t stop Jenny Holl and Sophie Unwin from taking their third victory of the World Cup series in the Women’s B Road Race, it came just after their time trial victory in Italy’s central region. Fin Graham would ride to fifth in the C3 road race and seventh in the time trial. Callum Deboys would ride to 15th and 16th in the C2 road race and time trial, respectively.

The second round of the Scottish Enduro Series took place at Pitfichie. Calum McBain of Merida Bikes claimed the top elite honours across the seven stages in Inverurie winning by 45 seconds with Martha Gill (Marin Bikes) winning the elite female race. A word too for Isla Cant (West Highland Wheelers) who finished as the second female rider just 25 seconds behind Gill, and top junior.
