Short Track
In Saturday’s Short Track event Innes McDonald (Scotia Offroad RT) bested Gus Lawson (Pedal Power RT) by 33 seconds to claim the open victory, with Sam Chisholm (Team HUP) in third. While the Female race saw Daisy Wilkinson (Scotia Offroad RT) just win out over Lily Cant (West Highland Wheelers) by four seconds, with Ella McQueen (Falkirk Junior BC) in third place.
Cross Country Olympic
Sunday’s racing saw the traditional SXC format at Cathkin.
Sam Chisholm claimed the Elite victory in Glasgow, winning by over two minutes from a very close battle for second; where William Weatherhill (Hope Factory) would best Al Griffin (Addform – Vive le Velo).
Ride of the day, however, would have to go to Innes McDonald (Scotia Offroad RT) who would win the the junior race open race and produce the fastest lap of the day – 30 seconds quicker than any other rider in any other category. Oliver Carter (Deeside Thistle) would take second, with Cameron Annable (Derwentside CC) in third.
Isla Hedley would win out in the female race after an incredible ride, to win by ten minutes from Beatrix Kiehlmann (Royal Albert CC) in second, and a strong effort from Jane Barr (Velocity 44 RT) in third. In the junior race, Freya Mowbray (Scotia Offroad RT) would take another impressive victory with teammates Daisy Wilkinson & Zoe Blyth also on the podium.
Backing up the previous day’s excellent performance with the seniors Gus Lawson (Pedal Power RT) claimed victory in the youth race in style. While in a tight battle for second between three riders Xander Graham (Scott Racing) would cross the line to claim second, with Joel Gillan (Scotia Offroad RT) in claiming a solid third. In the female race, Mairi Dowens (West Lothian Clarion) rode to an impressive youth win from Elena Mold (Glasgow Riderz) and Isla Cant (West Highland Wheelers).
Josh Stewart (SteppingStanes) and Lily Cant (West Highland Wheelers) won out in the Juvenile races.

GTRC Sprint GP
Saturday saw the GTRC Sprint GP at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome in Glasgow.
Senior riders would battle it out for the JP Memorial Cup – in memory of John Paul, former Team Scotland track sprinter and junior world sprint champion who passed away in 2022. As well as the traditional names contesting the Cup, the Belgium National Team, led by Scottish coach Jonny Mitchell, traded Gent for Glasgow.
Belgian Champion, Lowie Nulens qualifed fasted with a 10.182 and would go on to claim the win, defeating compatriot Runar de Schrijver in the Gold Medal final – in straight rides. In the battle for bronze Oliver Aloul (ESV Manchester) would best Ant Young (Glasgow Track RC) to podium.
There would be Scottish success in the women’s final. Ellie Stone (Glasgow Track RC) would come back from 1-0 down against Anna Whitworth Hay (Black Line) to win the JP Memorial Cup in the third in final ride. Belgian Zita Gheyens claimed third in the best of three against Edinburgh RC’s Sarah Johnson.
George Harold (ESV Manchester) and Amelie Freeman (Palmer Park Velo RT) won out in the youth sprint competition.
Scottish Regional BMX
Round 2 of the Scottish Regional BMX Series took place at the weekend, with 80 riders racing Cumbernauld Centurions’ Broadwood track.
Harrison Bell (Western Titans) would claim the merged 17-29 win from Lewis Cook (Cumbernauld Centurions) and Ben Fitzsimmons (Western Titans). Eilidh Watson (Cumbernauld Centurions) would best teammate Alexis McCartney in the Female 15-16 event.
Elsewhere there would be wins for Brodie Geddes (Cumbernauld Centurions) in the Open 16, David Fairlie (Cumbernauld Centurions) in the Open 15 and Ruby Warren (Western Titans) claiming the 14 victory.
Pluscarden Trophy
Elgin CC hosted the Pluscarden Hilly Time Trial on Sunday.
Matiss Robertson (RT23) would win out with a 45:46 from Gavin Dempster (Moray Firth) by just over a minute, with Marc Roberts (RT23) claiming third. Rhoda Kennedy (Ross-Shire RCC) would win the Female event.
