Working in partnership with our Commissions, and the wider community, in 2025, for the first time, we provided the opportunity for members to make suggestions on changes that they feel would benefit and develop the sport in Scotland. While not all suggestions were possible, due to the reserved nature of some regulations, we have been able to progress several positive changes which we are sure the community will be supportive of.
New Scottish National Masters Championships
Following member proposals, and analysis of participation in these categories, we have reviewed the Masters National Championship offer. Master 40, Master 50 and Master 60 will now be awarded in the Individual Pursuit, Closed Circuit, Road, Olympic Time Trial and Hill Climb Championships. Full list can be found on page 170 and 171 of the Handbook.
Minimum entries for titles to be awarded removed
Scottish National Championships no longer require multiple entries for a title to be awarded – as long as a rider starts and finishes the event they could become champion, even if they’re the only one in their category on the start line!
The event does still need to be viable to go ahead, so be sure to encourage your mates to enter too. You can check out our National Championships here.
Scottish National Records processing
The process for updating Scottish National Records has changed, with the Scottish Cycling Board able to approve claims more quickly than the previous quarterly consideration. All information on records can be found here.
Note: We are currently processing Scottish National Records claims. If you spot any erroneous records, please contact [email protected].
