There’s a new team for Oscar Onley in 2026, with the Kelso native becoming the first Scot to join INEOS-Grenadiers. Last year was a stratospehric year for Onley, announcing himself as a genuine grand tour contender with a record-equalling fourth at the Tour de France in July. A victory at the Tour de Suisse alongside a litany of strong results including second at the Lloyds Tour of Britain would also showcase the Borderer’s prowess. 2026 is poised to be an exciting year for the Scot – with his sights set on podiums at the grand tours this summer.
Edinburgh’s Sean Flynn will be looking to build on an excellent season last year, which saw him excel in the classics and stage races. Among the first onto the Oude Kwaremont as part of the break at the Tour of Flanders, and a Paris-Roubaix debut was a big step up for the Picnic-PostNL man. Domestique duty at the Tour de France helped Onley in the mountains, and lead out duty for Tobias Lund on the sprint stages helping the squad stave off the dreaded relegation to the second tier.
Joining the WorldTour ranks is Callum Thornley. A new recruit for Red Bull-BORA after a number of fantastic results for their Development squad in 2025.
Wins at the Sibiu Tour, and the British U23 Time Trial title, were topped off by a fantastic victory at the U23 Il Lombardia. With a strong time trial, and increasing climbing pedigree after a top ten finish at the ‘baby’ Giro
On the ProTour there’s a new team for Mark Stewart, the Dundonian has joined the Girona-based, American-owned Modern Adventure Pro Cycling. The new project will mostly focus on young American talent but Stewart will be among the international contingent. Stewart will balance the road with his track programme, having already been selected for this summer’s Commonwealth Games. You can read more about Mark’s recent road journey here.
Hamish Armitt will start another season with Team Novo Nordisk. Novo Nordisk are an all-diabetes pro cycling team, you can find out more about them here.
After three years in Spain, Calum Johnston has moved to Chinese team Li Ning Star who have a strong race calendar planned.
After years of being one of the strongest domestic riders in France, Alfie George will make the move to Swiss squad Elite Fondations, making the long overdue step up to the UCI Continental level.
Off the back of his cyclocross exploits Cameron Mason will be in the colours of Alpecin-Premier Tech’s development team.
After claiming a stage victory at the Tour de l’Avenir in August and multiple U23 podiums, Elliot Rowe will be looking to progress further with Team Visma-Lease A Bike Development.
There will be a mix of French and international racing for Adam Mitchell, Vendée U Primeo Energie. Meanwhile Joe Cosgrove will continue his development with Team Lotto Kern-Haus Outlet Montabaur.

Women
The rise of Lauren Dickson was one of the main threads of the women’s peloton last season, rising from amateur racing to win Lincoln GP and finishing second at the Tour of Norway. The Edinburgh rider has moved to FDJ-United Suez and is already making a strong impression.
Erin Boothman enters the senior ranks after claiming four junior world titles on the track, including breaking two World Records. The 18-year-old has joined the Liv-AlUla Jayco set-up on a three year deal with a first half of this season to be with their development team before a planned move to their WorldTour squad at the latter part of this season.
Airdrie’s Eilidh Shaw will continue to ride with UAE Development Team for a second season, last season saw a podium in the Antwerp Port Epic which the former Tofauti and Alba rider will look to build from this season.
Handsling-Alba look to enter their fifth season of operation, and fourth at the UCI Continental level with a strong squad of 13 riders, including six Scots.
The Scottish based team built around athlete development. The team’s tailored race programmes are designed to give each rider the experience and confidence needed to progress to the highest levels of the sport — a model that has produced one rider each of the past two seasons graduating to Women’s World Tour teams. The team sees themselves as filling the gap between domestic Scottish or British-level events and the top tier of road racing with a strong roster of riders.
After scoring a first UCI win with Kate Richardson last season; the Glaswegian will return with Arianne Holland, Neah Evans and Beth Morrow. Joining the team are British Cyclocross Champion Anna Flynn and Arabella Blackburn; who joins from the junior ranks.
Sticking with the British-based riders Morven Yeoman will stay with DAS-Hutchinson for 2026.
