The Club Support Programme is designed to strengthen cycling clubs and community organisations by creating paid posts in key areas such as coaching, governance and administration.
These roles will help build much-needed capacity within clubs while supporting, rather than replacing, the invaluable contribution of volunteers. By creating more sustainable structures and providing additional support, the programme aims to enable clubs to grow participation, sustain or increase membership, and strengthen their ability to meet the needs of their local communities.
At the heart of the programme is a simple ambition: to support the development of stronger, safer, more sustainable and more inclusive sports clubs and community organisations. In doing so, we hope to create more opportunities for people from diverse backgrounds to participate, progress and achieve in sport.
Club Support Programme Opportunities
Over the last few months, clubs and community organisations submitted business cases and role profiles to sportscotland for review. We are delighted to announce that the following have been successful and are now recruiting for their respective Club Support Programme roles:
- Clyde Cycle Park
- Cumbernauld Centurions
- Dundee Dragons
- Dunfermline CC & Carnegie Cyclones CC
- Falkirk Junior Bike Club
- Movement Park & Western Titans
- Peebles CC
- Royal Albert CC (Including Clydesdale Colts)
This represents a significant investment into the development of our sport, with close to £140k of new money going directly into cycling over each of the next three years. We are grateful to sportscotland for their support and acknowledge the efforts of all involved in developing such robust and comprehensive business cases.
